Among the eighteen, the third major section, explaining the focal object to answer the third question, has six parts: 1. general question; 2. brief answer; 3. interrogation; 4. listing of items, in four parts, as in the treatise; 5. detailed explanation; 6. general conclusion. The detailed explanation has four parts: 1. explaining the all-pervasive objective referents; 2. explaining the objective referents for purifying conduct; 3. explaining the objective referents for skill; 4. explaining the objective referents for purifying defilements.
