Within the six parts of the individual explanations (part 4), the sixth, explaining the skillful means of ultimate purity, has three parts: 1. general question; 2. detailed answer, which has six parts: 1. explaining the means of purity based on taking birth in the group homogeneity of the Tuṣita heaven, which has four parts: i. explaining the stage; ii. explaining the place of birth; iii. explaining the beneficial advantages of taking birth; iv. explaining the intention of taking birth; 2. explaining the means of purity based on descending to be born among humans, which has three parts: i. explaining the place of taking birth, which has two parts: a. presentation, and b. explanation; ii. explaining the characteristics of leaving the household life; iii. explaining the intention of leaving the household life; 3. explaining the means of purity based on arduous ascetic practices; 4. explaining the means of purity based on proceeding together toward liberation; 5. explaining the means of purity based on giving rise to veneration toward the true Dharma, which has two parts: i. establishing awaiting a request; ii. explaining the beneficial advantages, which has two parts: a. presentation, and b. explanation; 6. explaining the means of purity based on severing slander and erroneous adherence, which has three parts: i. presentation; ii. explanation; iii. explaining the beneficial advantages, which has two parts: a. explaining the beneficial advantages of expounding the Dharma; b. explaining the beneficial advantages of studying the Dharma; 3. explaining the general conclusion and explaining the names. Part 5 explains the general conclusion and beneficial advantages, which has four parts as in the treatise.
