Of the seven parts, 3. answering the third question, 'What are the virtues of a good spiritual friend acting as a basis of faith?', has two [parts]: (1) general statement; (2) specific explanation, which has five [parts]: [a] explaining that a good spiritual friend acts as a basis of faith based on the virtue of supreme comportment has two [parts]: [i] heading, [ii] explanation; [b] explaining that a good spiritual friend acts as a basis of faith based on the virtue of earnestness and gravity in actions has two [parts]: [i] heading, [ii] explanation; [c] explaining that a good spiritual friend acts as a basis of faith based on the virtue of being free from deceit and hypocrisy has two [parts]: [i] heading, [ii] explanation; [d] explaining that a good spiritual friend acts as a basis of faith based on the virtue of having no jealousy has two [parts]: [i] heading, [ii] explanation, which has three [parts], as in the treatise; [e] explaining that a good spiritual friend acts as a basis of faith based on the virtue of frugality has two [parts]: [i] heading, [ii] explanation.
