分七中五答第五問云何親近善友相分二。一總標。二別釋分四。一依看病供侍等明親近善友義分四如論。二依敬問等明親近善友義分五如論。三依施如法衣服等明親近善友義分六如論。四依止等明親近善友義分七如論。

Of the seven parts, 5. answering the fifth question, 'What are the characteristics of associating with a good spiritual friend?', has two [parts]: (1) general statement; (2) specific explanation, which has four [parts]: [a] explaining the meaning of associating with a good spiritual friend based on attending to the sick, serving, and so forth, having four [parts], as in the treatise; [b] explaining the meaning of associating with a good spiritual friend based on respectful inquiries and so forth, having five [parts], as in the treatise; [c] explaining the meaning of associating with a good spiritual friend based on giving lawful clothing and so forth, having six [parts], as in the treatise; [d] explaining the meaning of associating with a good spiritual friend based on taking reliance and so forth, having seven [parts], as in the treatise.
