Within the division into twelve, the seventh, clarifying the meaning of great compassion, has two parts: 1. general statement; 2. detailed explanation, which has four parts: (1) clarifying the meaning of great compassion based on subtle and difficult-to-understand duḥkha, which has two parts: a. establishing the causes; b. revealing the results; (2) clarifying the meaning of great compassion based on accumulating wisdom over a long time, which has two parts: a. statement; b. explanation; (3) clarifying the meaning of great compassion based on intense attention toward the objective domain, which has two parts: a. statement; b. explanation, which has two parts: [a] establishing the causes; [b] revealing the results; (4) clarifying the meaning of great compassion based on supreme purity, which has two parts: a. statement; b. explanation.
