分十四中第九依善等三性義明根差別分二。一總問分二如論。二廣答分五。一答八是善性根三性為義。二答五是三性根三性為義。三答一是善不善根三性為義。四答是無記根無記為義。五答二是無記根三性為義。

Within the fourteen divisions, the ninth, clarifying the distinctions of the faculties based on the meaning of the three natures of wholesome and so forth, has two parts: 1. General question, in two parts as in the treatise; 2. Detailed answer, in five parts: (1) answering that eight are faculties of wholesome nature, having the three natures as their referents; (2) answering that five are faculties of the three natures, having the three natures as their referents; (3) answering that one is a faculty of wholesome and unwholesome natures, having the three natures as its referents; (4) answering that [one] is an indeterminate faculty, having indeterminate as its referent; (5) answering that two are indeterminate faculties, having the three natures as their referents.
