Under the seventeen divisions, the twelfth [section], clarifying the distinctions among the bases of the faculties based on the meaning of the four applications of mindfulness (smṛtyupasthāna), is divided into four: 1. clarifying the distinctions among the bases based on the application of mindfulness to the body, divided into two: (1) question, (2) answer; 2. clarifying the distinctions among the bases based on the application of mindfulness to feelings, divided into two: (1) question, (2) answer; 3. clarifying the distinctions among the bases based on the application of mindfulness to mind, divided into two: (1) question, (2) answer; 4. clarifying the distinctions among the bases based on the application of mindfulness to dharmas, divided into two: (1) question, (2) answer. Under the seventeen divisions, the thirteenth [section], clarifying the distinctions among the bases of the faculties based on the meaning of the four truths (catuḥsatya), is divided into four: 1. clarifying the distinctions among the bases based on the truth of suffering (duḥkhasatya), divided into two: (1) question, (2) answer; 2. clarifying the distinctions among the bases based on the truth of origination (samudayasatya), divided into two: (1) question, (2) answer; 3. clarifying the distinctions among the bases based on the truth of cessation (nirodhasatya), divided into two: (1) question, (2) answer; 4. clarifying the distinctions among the bases based on the truth of the path (mārgasatya), divided into two: (1) question, (2) answer.
