Regarding "Nāgārjuna Bodhisattva, etc.": That is what was formerly called Longshu Pusa (Nāgārjuna Bodhisattva). Correctly it is called Nāgārjuna. Nāga means dragon. Arjuna means majestic and fierce. The old translation mistakenly rendered it as Longshu ("Dragon Tree"). Now, this bodhisattva had the majestic fierceness of a dragon; none among monastics or laity dared look up at him. If a person looked upon him, their speech became confused and they lost their composure. Expressing his traces at the time, he was named Nāgārjuna ("Dragon Fierce"). He composed several tens of treatises, such as the Madhyamaka-śāstra; his abundant virtues and noble traces are fully detailed in his separate biography.
