1.21

論。六者為示至二乘心過故　述曰。十信初心中品之人而有凡夫二乘心故。於趣大乘而為重過。為彼顯示止觀等文。令其修行而對治也。

[Treatise:] "Sixth, in order to show... faults of the two-vehicle mind." / [Exposition:] Because people of the middle grade at the initial stage of the ten faiths still have the minds of ordinary persons and the two vehicles, these constitute grave faults in advancing toward the Mahāyāna. For their sake, it reveals the passages on calm abiding and special insight, causing them to practice and apply the remedies.
