2.225

論。作是思惟至第一義樂　述曰。此誓願觀。因悲立願。願修眾善除前第二不樂善失。願令我心難分別者。此不顛倒願。即願體也。下有三願。顯其願用。遍於十方修行等者。明長時願。以無量方便救拔等。明廣大願。令得涅槃。明第一願。願既是心。亦得名為四種心也。

[Treatise:] "Generating such contemplation […] the joy of the ultimate truth." / [Exposition:] This is the contemplation of vows. One establishes vows based on compassion. Vowing to cultivate all goods eliminates the former second error of not taking joy in good. In "vow that my mind [abandon] differentiation," this is the vow of non-inversion, which is the essence of the vows. Below are three vows, showing the function of the vows. "Everywhere throughout the ten directions cultivating [the practice]," etc., explains the vow of vast duration. "Employing immeasurable skillful means to rescue," etc., explains the vast vow. "To cause them to attain nirvāṇa" explains the ultimate vow. Since vows are mind, they may also be called the four kinds of mind.
