眼等五識不能等者。必要稱量勝劣等故。而方起於慢過慢等。由此慢有七種不同。廣如唯識百法疏述。

Regarding "the five consciousnesses, such as the eye [consciousness], are unable" and so forth: one must measure superior, inferior, and the like, only after which pride, extreme pride, and so forth arise. Due to this, pride has seven distinct kinds, as related at length in the Cheng weishi lun and the commentary on the Baifa [mingmen lun].
