7.61

爾時地神白善業菩薩言：「此事不然。何以故？恒為識神之所誑惑，不示徑路，我欲得堅䩕反與柔軟；時復須軟反與我䩕，我欲詣南反將至北，賊中之賊不過識神，自稱為王此事不然。」

At that time, the earth deity said to Bodhisattva Kuśalakarma: “This matter is not so. Why is that? I am constantly deluded and misled by the consciousness deity, who does not show me the direct path. When I wish to be hard and firm, it conversely makes me soft; when at times I need softness, it conversely makes me hard; when I wish to go south, it conversely leads me north. Among all bandits, there is none worse than the consciousness deity! That it calls itself king is not so.”
