7.62

爾時水神白善業菩薩言：「識神所說是事不然。何以故？水能潤漬成長萬物，我性須冷反與我熱，燒炙消盡永無冷性，為識所誑，以是義故識言非也。」

At that time, the water deity said to Bodhisattva Kuśalakarma: “What the consciousness deity says is not so. Why is that? Water can moisten and nourish, bringing the myriad things to maturation. My nature requires coolness, yet it conversely makes me hot, scorching and burning me away until no coolness remains. Thus am I deceived by consciousness. For this reason, what consciousness says is false.”
