「吾昔一時在毘舍離城，初成佛道未久，六師興盛，吾有弟子千二百五十人，一千一人皆得羅漢六通清徹。時有旃遮摩那耆女，是阿闍羅翅舍欽婆羅弟子，受師明教日來佛所，外現清信女法，內受邪師教，來往周旋欲令人見，以草作腹日漸令大，後以木盂繫腹，狀如臨產婦女。時邪師問言：『汝那得此娠？』報言：『我日往瞿曇沙門所，故有此娠。』師便瞋言：『誑我弟子垂當生梵天，毀辱我弟子乃至於此。』時邪師將諸弟子并此女人，往至佛所。當於爾時，如來與無央數眾而為說法，梵志至佛所高聲唱言：『此沙門瞿曇，犯於婬欲，實不得道自稱言得道，所作變化皆是幻術，非真實道。』指此女人言：『眾人皆見不也，愛我此女使令有娠。』發此語已，時天帝釋化作一黃鼠，在女裙裏嚙盂繩索令盂墮地，眾人皆見，呵責罵言：『汝等師徒謗毀聖人，促出國去。』

"Once in the past, when I was in the city of Vaiśālī, not long after first realizing the Buddha path, the six teachers were flourishing. I had one thousand two hundred and fifty disciples, of whom one thousand and one had all attained arhatship, their six supernatural penetrations thoroughly pure. At that time, there was the maiden Ciñcāmāṇavikā, who was a disciple of Ajita Keśakambala. Having received her master's clear instructions, she came daily to the Buddha's place, externally displaying the conduct of an upāsikā, but internally receiving the teachings of the heterodox master. Coming and going, she moved about wishing to be seen by people. She made her belly appear larger day by day using grass, and later tied a wooden basin to her belly, appearing like a woman about to give birth. Then the heterodox master asked her: 'How did you come to have this pregnancy?' She replied: 'I go daily to the place of the recluse Gautama, and therefore have this pregnancy.' The master then said angrily: 'He deceives my disciple who was just about to be born in the Brahmā heaven, and humiliates my disciple to such an extent!' Then the heterodox master took his disciples along with this woman and went to the Buddha's place. At that very time, the Tathāgata was preaching the Dharma for an immeasurable assembly. The brahmacārin came to the Buddha's place and proclaimed in a loud voice: 'This recluse Gautama violates celibacy with lustful conduct! Truly having not attained the path, he claims to have attained the path. The transformations he performs are all illusions, not the true path!' Pointing to this woman, he said: 'Do you people see or not? He loved this woman of mine and caused her to become pregnant.' Having spoken these words, Śakra, King of the Gods, transformed into a yellow mouse, went inside the woman's skirt, and gnawed through the ropes of the basin, causing the basin to fall to the ground. The assembly all saw it, and rebuked and reviled them, saying: 'You master and disciples have slandered a holy one! Leave the kingdom at once!'"
