"Sixth is being mindful of repaying the Buddha's kindness. In the past, throughout immeasurable kalpas, the Tathāgata gave away his head, eyes, marrow, brain, limbs, hands, feet, country, cities, wife, children, elephants, horses, and the seven precious treasures, and cultivated all manner of ascetic practices for our sake. This kindness and this virtue are truly difficult to repay. Therefore, a sūtra states: 'Even if one were to carry him atop one's head or bear him upon one's shoulders for kalpas [as numerous as] the sands of the Ganges, one still could not repay it.' If we wish to repay the Tathāgata's kindness, in this world we must be vigorous and courageous, defend against weariness, endure suffering, not begrudge our bodies or lives, establish the triratna, propagate the Mahāyāna, broadly transform sentient beings, and together enter the right path.
