"We, disciples, from immeasurable kalpas until today, either through the four inverted views spoke of the four parājikas as sthūlātyayas, or spoke of sthūlātyaya offenses as the four parājikas; spoke of transgressions as non-transgressions, and non-transgressions as transgressions; spoke of light offenses as heavy, and heavy offenses as light; viewed the pure as impure, and viewed the impure as pure. Or through wrong views, we praised and expounded worldly treatises without revering the Buddhist scriptures, engaged in all kinds of evil disputation, kept the eight impure things, regarded what is truly the Buddha's word as Māra's word, and regarded what is truly Māra's word as the Buddha's word. Or we believed and accepted what the six teachers spoke, or said: 'The Tathāgata has today already entered nirvāṇa, and the Triratna is impermanent.' Our bodies and minds gave rise to confusion and immeasurable perverse views.
