23.13

"May the disciples, relying on the merit generated by this kṣamā of sins of vocal karma and the like, in life after life be endowed with the eight tones of voice and the four unimpeded eloquence, constantly speak words of concord and benefit, their voices being pure and elegant, delighting all who hear them, and skillfully comprehend the dialects of sentient beings. Whatever is spoken shall be timely and appropriate, enabling those listeners to attain understanding and awakening, transcend the ordinary and enter the sagely, and open the eye of wisdom."
