1.45

「又復無始已來至于今日，常以無明覆心，煩惱障意；見佛形像，不能盡心恭敬；輕蔑眾僧，殘害善友，破塔毀寺，焚燒形像，出佛身血；或自處華堂，安置尊像卑猥之處，使其烟熏日曝、風吹雨露、塵土污坌、雀鼠殘毀，共住同宿，曾無禮敬；或裸露像身，初不嚴飾；或遮掩燈燭，或關閉殿宇，障佛光明。如是等罪，今悉懺悔。

"Furthermore, from the beginningless past down to the present day, we have constantly had our minds veiled by avidyā and obstructed by kleśas: seeing images of the Buddha, we were unable to show utmost respect; we despised the Saṅgha, harmed good friends, destroyed stūpas and temples, burned images, and caused the Buddha's body to bleed; or dwelling in splendid halls ourselves, we placed the venerable images in humble and vile spots, exposing them to smoke, scorching sun, wind, rain, dew, grime, dust, and damage from sparrows and mice, sharing lodging and living with them without ever paying homage; or we left images uncovered, never adorning them from the start; or we concealed lamps and candles, or shut hall doors, obstructing the Buddha's radiance. Such transgressions we now confess and repent in full.
