"Śākyamuni Buddha is one zhang and six chi in height, emitting purplish-golden light and standing before the practitioner. Maitreya Bhagavat is sixteen zhang in height. These Buddhas each enter the samādhi of universally manifesting bodies of form and appear before that person, causing that practitioner's heart to rejoice. Because of their joy, these transformation Buddhas each extend their right hand to stroke the crown of the practitioner's head. Having seen the seven Buddhas, one sees Maitreya; having seen Maitreya, the bodhisattvas of the Bhadrakalpa, one after another in succession down to Ruci, each emit radiant light and stand before the practitioner. At that time, the thousand bodhisattvas each praise the buddhānusmṛti-samādhi, and preach for the practitioner the bodhisattva nature, preach the bodhisattva liberation, and preach the bodhisattva wisdom. This is called attaining the buddhānusmṛti-samādhi through the mind contemplating statues."
