"How does one contemplate the Tathāgata's mark of lips delightfully red like the bimba fruit? From the upper and lower lips, as well as the gums and palate, light harmoniously emerges. That light is spherical, resembling strings of hundreds of thousands of red pearls. It exits the Buddha's mouth and enters the Buddha's nose; it exits the Buddha's nose and enters the white curl of hair (ūrṇā); it exits the white curl of hair and enters between the strands of his hair; it exits from between the strands of his hair and enters into the halo of light, shining upon and adorning the various flowers. Light arises from the imprints on the forty teeth in his mouth; its light is red and white, each ray illuminating the others and shining on the forty teeth, causing the bases of the forty teeth naturally to be uniformly white like a crystal wall, upper and lower even and without disparity. The patterns and lines between the teeth radiate various beams of light, also red and white. During the Buddha's lifetime, these various colours dazzled the eyes of people. After the Buddha's parinirvāṇa, one should contemplate and see these colours with the eye of the mind.
