1.14

奴復說喻：「我之大家，因緣合會，我如犢子隨逐大牛，人殺大牛，犢子在邊，不能救大牛。無常之命，不可得救，奈何愁憂啼哭，亦無所益。」

The slave likewise spoke a parable, "My master and I came together through causes and conditions. I am like a calf following a great cow: when someone slaughters the great cow, though the calf is by her side, it cannot save the great cow. A life [bound to] impermanence cannot be saved; what use is it to sorrow, grieve, and weep? It is of no benefit at all."
