1.16

奴為梵志說譬喻言：「我之大家，因緣和會，我如犢子，隨逐大牛，人殺大牛，犢子在邊，不能救護大牛之命，憂愁不樂，啼哭懊惱，何益死者？」

The servant spoke a parable for the brahmacārin: “My master and I were joined by causes and conditions. I was like a calf following an ox: when someone slaughters the ox while the calf stands beside it, the calf cannot preserve the ox's life. What benefit to the dead are sorrow and dejection, weeping and despair?”
