Tatiyadisāvāre sammānanāyāti devamāte tissamāteti evaṃ sambhāvitakathākathanena. Anavamānanāyāti yathā dāsakammakarādayo pothetvā viheṭhetvā kathenti, evaṃ hīḷetvā vimānetvā akathanena. Anaticariyāyāti taṃ atikkamitvā bahi aññāya itthiyā saddhiṃ paricaranto taṃ aticarati nāma, tathā akaraṇena. Issariyavossaggenāti itthiyo hi mahālatāsadisampi ābharaṇaṃ labhitvā bhattaṃ vicāretuṃ alabhamānā kujjhanti, kaṭacchuṃ hatthe ṭhapetvā tava ruciyā karohīti bhattagehe vissaṭṭhe sabbaṃ issariyaṃ vissaṭṭhaṃ nāma hoti, evaṃ karaṇenāti attho. Alaṅkārānuppadānenāti attano vibhavānurūpena alaṅkāradānena. Susaṃvihitakammantāti yāgubhattapacanakālādīni anatikkamitvā tassa tassa sādhukaṃ karaṇena suṭṭhu saṃvihitakammantā. Saṅgahitaparijanāti sammānanādīhi ceva paheṇakapesanādīhi ca saṅgahitaparijanā. Idha parijano nāma sāmikassa ceva attano ca ñātijano. Anaticārinīti sāmikaṃ muñcitvā aññaṃ manasāpi na pattheti. Sambhatanti kasivāṇijjādīni katvā ābhatadhanaṃ. Dakkhā ca hotīti yāgubhattasampādanādīsu chekā nipuṇā hoti. Analasāti nikkosajjā. Yathā aññā kusītā nisinnaṭṭhāne nisinnāva honti ṭhitaṭṭhāne ṭhitāva, evaṃ ahutvā vipphāritena cittena sabbakiccāni nipphādeti. Sesamidhāpi purimanayeneva yojetabbaṃ.

In the turn regarding the third direction: 'By honouring' means by speaking esteeming words such as 'mother of the deva' or 'mother of Tissa.' 'By not despising' means by not speaking contemptuously and disparagingly in the way one speaks while beating and harassing slaves, servants, and the like. 'By not committing adultery' means that going beyond her and cohabiting outside with another woman is called committing adultery against her; it means by not doing so. 'By relinquishing authority' means: women, even upon receiving an ornament resembling a Great Creeper, become angry when they do not get to manage the food; having placed the ladle in her hand and entrusted the kitchen to her, saying, 'Act according to your pleasure,' all authority is indeed relinquished; this is the meaning: by doing so. 'By supplying ornaments' means by giving ornaments according to one's wealth. 'Her work is well-ordered' means her work is well-arranged by performing each and every task thoroughly without neglecting the times for cooking porridge and meals, and so forth. 'Her retinue is looked after' means the retinue is looked after by honouring them and sending gifts and the like. Here, 'retinue' means the kin of both the husband and herself. 'She is not an adulteress' means she does not desire another, even in thought, abandoning her husband. 'Stored up' means wealth brought in after engaging in farming, trade, and the like. 'And she is skilled' means she is clever and expert in preparing porridge and meals and so forth. 'Energetic' means free from laziness. Not being like other lazy women who remain sitting where they sat and standing where they stood, she accomplishes all duties with an expansive mind. The rest here too should be construed just in the manner stated before.
