In the turn regarding the fourth direction: 'By not breaking one's word' means by giving without breaking one's word regarding whatever he names, saying, 'This too is in our house, this too is there; take it and go.' 'And his subsequent generations honour him' means: a companion's sons and daughters are called his offspring; their sons and daughters, along with grandsons and great-grandsons, are called the subsequent generations. They honour, cherish, and hold him dear, and perform auspicious rites for them on occasions of auspicious ceremonies and the like. The rest here too should be understood just in the manner stated before.
