shook as well. Furthermore, hundreds of thousands of immeasurable celestial instruments resounded by themselves in the sky above without being played, while those bodhisattvas approached the presence of the Tathāgata on Gṛdhrakūṭa mountain, touched their heads to his feet in homage, circumambulated the Buddha three times, and sat to one side. At that time, the Tathāgata Śākyamuni, by means of five-colored rays of light, illuminated the world realm named Īśvarakīrtirāja, located beyond five hundred koṭis of nayutas of buddha realms to the north. In that world realm, the Buddha named Padmottara-sphuṭa-prabha, the Tathāgata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, One endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Knower of the world, Unsurpassed charioteer of beings to be trained, Teacher, Victor, Buddha, Bhagavān, was residing in the buddha realm named Vimalā. That buddha realm was exceedingly flat, with ground of vaiḍūrya marked with lines of refined gold, and grown with trees made of the seven precious substances. Those trees were as tall as an arrow's flight, adorned with blossoms, fruit, branches, and leaves, and when stirred by gentle breezes produced melodious sounds that ordinary beings could never tire of hearing. In places there were springs, pools, and bathing ponds completely filled with water possessing the eight qualities, their beds covered with golden sand, and on the four sides of the ponds fragrant padma, puṇḍarīka, and pāruṣaka flowers, as well as blue, yellow, red, and white flowers as large as chariot wheels covering the water, in which various birds sang exceedingly delightful and sweet songs.
