چه خوش بود که یکی بعد عمرهای دراز دو چشم بر رخ دلدار خویش بیند باز که از حکایت وصلش به جان دهد راحتگهی شکایت هجرش ز سر کند آغاز گهی بنوشد جام شراب از دستش گهی ببوسد پایش بهصد هزار نیاز

How pleasant it is that after long ages / one’s two eyes should look upon the face of one’s beloved once more;
That she should grant solace to the soul through the tale of reunion, / or at times begin anew the complaint of separation;
At times drink a cup of wine from her hand, / and at times kiss her feet with a hundred thousand supplications!
