79.41

بر پادشاهزاده ندیمی فطن و جلیسی زیرک بفرست و او را اشارت فرمای تا نوازش و تربیت پادشاهانه بدیشان برساند، بعد بگوید که پادشاه جهان فرموده است که ما در عرصات و اقالیم مملکت خویش محاسن رسوم و آیتها اساس نهادهایم و به اجماع عقول و اتفاق آراء روشن حکما اثبات این را از معظمات امور پادشاهی دانسته و این معانی مقبول طباع کافهٔ‌ عالمیان و محمود خواطر جمهور جهانیان شده چنانچه بعضی از آن شما را نیز به چشم سر مبرهن گشته باشد، و یکی از آن این است که چون کسی از دودمان بزرگی و خانان سروری در شهر رسد یادشاه او را بهشرف مصاحبت خویش مشرف گرداند و مراسم ضیافت او بهحضور خود

of sages, the upholding of this has been counted among the momentous affairs of state. These notions have found favor in the dispositions of all mankind and
have been praised by the minds of the multitude of the world's people, so that some of it may have become evident even to your own eyes.
One of these customs is that whenever anyone belonging to an exalted lineage and family of sovereigns arrives in the city,
the king honors him with the privilege of his fellowship, and makes known the rites of his hospitality in his own presence,
