4.25āpi ca yathā rūpeṇopādānabhūtena janyate rūpaṃ, tathā jñānam apy upādānabhūtenaiva janyate / yaiva tasya rūpotpādanātmā, saiva tasya jñānotpādane 'pi / na hi tasya jñānotpādanātmānyatvam /

Furthermore, just as visible matter is produced by visible matter acting as a material cause, so too cognition is produced by that very [matter] acting as a material cause. That very nature which it has in producing visible matter is its nature also in producing cognition; for it does not have a different nature for producing cognition.
