ihabhavie bhaṃte! nāṇe? parabhavie nāṇe? tadubhayabhavie nāṇe?
goyamā! ihabhavie vi nāṇe, parabhavie vi nāṇe, tadubhayabhavie vi nāṇe|
ihabhavie bhaṃte! daṃsaṇe? parabhavie daṃsaṇe? tadubhayabhavie daṃsaṇe?
goyamā! ihabhavie vi daṃsaṇe, parabhavie vi daṃsaṇe, tadubhayabhavie vi daṃsaṇe|
ihabhavie bhaṃte! caritte? parabhavie caritte? tadubhayabhavie caritte?
goyamā! ihabhavie caritte, no parabhavie caritte, no tadubhayabhavie caritte|
ihabhavie bhaṃte! tave? parabhavie tave? tadubhayabhavie tave?
goyamā! ihabhavie tave, no parabhavie tave, no tadubhayabhavie tave|
ihabhavie bhaṃte! saṃjame? parabhavie saṃjame? tadubhayabhavie saṃjame?

“Gautama, knowledge pertains to this life, knowledge also pertains to the next life, and knowledge also pertains to both lives.”
“Venerable Sir, does faith pertain to this life? Does faith pertain to the next life? Does faith pertain to both lives?”
“Gautama, faith pertains to this life, faith also pertains to the next life, and faith also pertains to both lives.”
“Venerable Sir, does conduct pertain to this life? Does conduct pertain to the next life? Does conduct pertain to both lives?”
“Gautama, conduct pertains to this life; conduct does not pertain to the next life, nor does conduct pertain to both lives.”
