"Venerable Sir, two inhabitants of hell are reborn as inhabitants of hell in the same hellish residence. There, one inhabitant of hell has greater karma, greater activity, greater karmic influx, and greater suffering; one inhabitant of hell has lesser karma, lesser activity, lesser karmic influx, and lesser suffering. How is this so, Venerable Sir?"
"Gautama, inhabitants of hell are declared to be of two kinds, namely: those reborn with deceit and false view, and those reborn without deceit and with right view. There, the inhabitant of hell who is reborn with deceit and false view has greater karma down to greater suffering. There, the inhabitant of hell who is reborn without deceit and with right view has lesser karma down to lesser suffering.
Two Asurakumāras, Venerable Sir? Exactly the same. Likewise, excluding one-sensed and deficient-sensed souls, down to Vaimānikas."
