udagabbhe ṇaṃ bhaṃte! udagabbhe tti kālao kevacciraṃ hoi?
goyamā! jahanneṇaṃ ekaṃ samayaṃ, ukkoseṇaṃ chammāsā|
tirikkhajoṇiyagabbhe ṇaṃ bhaṃte! tirikkhajoṇiyagabbhe tti kālao kevacciraṃ hoi?
goyamā! jahanneṇaṃ aṃtomuhuttaṃ, ukkoseṇaṃ aṭṭha saṃvaccharāiṃ|
manussīgabbhe ṇaṃ bhaṃte! manussīgabbhe tti kālao kevacciraṃ hoi?
goyamā! jahanneṇaṃ aṃtomuhuttaṃ, ukkoseṇaṃ bārasa saṃvaccharāiṃ|

"Venerable Sir, for how long in terms of time does a water-fetus remain a water-fetus?"
"Gautama, at the minimum for one moment, at the maximum for six months."
"Venerable Sir, for how long in terms of time does an animal-womb-fetus remain an animal-womb-fetus?"
"Gautama, at the minimum for an antarmuhūrta, at the maximum for eight years."
"Venerable Sir, for how long in terms of time does a human-female-fetus remain a human-female-fetus?"
"Gautama, at the minimum for an antarmuhūrta, at the maximum for twelve years."
