Inside that forest grove, a very level and delightful ground is declared, namely like the surface of a drumhead, up to adorned with various kinds of five-coloured jewels and grasses, namely black, up to white; thus its colour, smell, touch, sound, lotus ponds, hillocks, pavilions, canopies, and stone slabs are to be understood.
There, many Vāṇamantara gods and goddesses sit, sleep, remain, recline, turn on their sides, play, dally, sport, and enjoy themselves, experiencing the auspicious special results of their deeds done in the past, well-performed, well-striven, auspicious, and wholesome.
Upon that rampart, inside the Padmavaravedikā balustrade, a large forest grove is declared: slightly less than two yojanas in breadth, equal to the balustrade in circumference, dark, up to devoid of [coarse] grass, it is to be understood.
