“Where, venerable sir, is the gate named Vijaya located in Jambūdvīpa island?”
“O Gautama, having traversed forty-five thousand yojanas to the east of Mount Mandara in Jambūdvīpa island, at the eastern boundary of Jambūdvīpa island, to the west of the eastern half of Lavaṇasamudra ocean, over the great river Sītā, there the gate named Vijaya of Jambūdvīpa island is located: eight yojanas in height upwards, four yojanas in breadth, and just as much in depth; with a topmost pinnacle of excellent gold, [and so forth] up to the description of the gate, up to its capital city.
