tīse ṇaṃ samāe ekkavīsāe vāsasahassehiṃ kāle vīikkaṃte āgamessāe ussappiṇīe sāvaṇabahulapaḍivae bālavakaraṇaṃsi abhīinakkhatte coddadasapaḍhamasamaye anaṃtehiṃ vaṇṇapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ gaṃdhapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ rasapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ phāsapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ saṃghayaṇapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ saṃṭhāṇapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ uccattapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ āupajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ garuyalahuya-pajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ agaruyalahuyapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ uṭṭhāṇa kamma bala vīriya purisakkāra parakkama-pajjavehiṃ anaṃtaguṇaparivaḍḍhīe parivaḍḍhemāṇe-parivaḍḍhemāṇe, ettha ṇaṃ dūsamadūsamāṇāmaṃ samā kāle paḍi-vajjissai samaṇāuso!|
tīse ṇaṃ bhaṃte! samāe bharahassa vāsassa kerisae āgārabhāvapaḍoyāre bhavissai? goyamā! kāle bhavissai hāhābhūe bhaṃbhābhūe evaṃ so ceva dūsamadūsamāveḍho neyavvo|
tīse ṇaṃ samāe ekkavīsāe vāsasahassehiṃ kāle viikkaṃte anaṃtehiṃ vaṇṇapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ gaṃdhapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ rasapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ phāsapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ saṃghayaṇapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ saṃṭhāṇapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ uccattapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ āupajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ garuyalahuyapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ agaruyalahuyapajjavehiṃ anaṃtehiṃ uṭṭhāṇa kamma bala vīriya purisakkāra parakkamapajjavehiṃ anaṃtaguṇaparivaḍḍhīe parivaḍḍhemāṇe-parivaḍḍhemāṇe, ettha ṇaṃ dūsamānāmaṃ samā kāle paḍivajjissai samaṇāuso!|

When twenty-one thousand years have passed in that era, in the forthcoming utsarpiṇī, on the first day of the dark fortnight of Śrāvaṇa, during Bālava-karaṇa, under the Abhijit asterism, at the very first instant of the fourteenth [part of the day], increasing by infinitely manifold augmentation of infinite color-modes, infinite smell-modes, infinite taste-modes, infinite touch-modes, infinite bone-structure-modes, infinite configuration-modes, infinite height-modes, infinite lifespan-modes, infinite heavy-light-modes, infinite neither-heavy-nor-light-modes, and infinite modes of exertion, action, strength, energy, masculine effort, and prowess, then, O long-lived śramaṇa, the era named Duḥṣamā-duḥṣamā will begin!
“Venerable sir, in that era, what will the manifestation of the condition of Bharata realm be like?”
“O Gautama, that time will become full of cries of ‘Alas!’ and lamentation; in this way, the entire account of Duḥṣamā-duḥṣamā is to be understood [as in the avasarpiṇī].
