1.12.28

kiṃ jñaptiḥ svapanaṃ suṣuptir athavā mūrcchā mṛtir jīvanaṃ
bhāty evaṃ nahi niścikāya nikhilaḥ so' yaṃ sakhīnāṃ gaṇaḥ |
usrāṇāṃ tatir asra-vṛṣṭi-kalitaiḥ sā ca pravāhaiḥ punas
tarhy eṣāṃ hṛdayaṃ hradaṃ ca tam atha kṣveḍair ivāpūpurat || [sragdharā]

"Is this waking consciousness, a dream, deep sleep, or a swoon, death, or life?"
Thus it seemed; that whole host of friends could not determine at all.
And then, with streams poured forth in showers of tears, the herd of cows
filled their hearts and that pool as if with venom. ||6
