śīrṣa-cchedyasya yaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ śīrṣṇi kāliya-bhoginaḥ |
anvagṛhṇāt pada-nyāsāc cihna-śreṇyā gatiḥ sa naḥ || [anuṣṭubh]
Therefore: / "Kṛṣṇa, who through the imprint of his feet with rows of marks / bestowed grace upon the head of the serpent Kālīya whose head deserved to be severed, / is our refuge."
