yadā grāsāya sa karaṃ prasārayati cāgrataḥ |
tadā sarve dravanti sma sarvataś caṭakā iva || [anuṣṭubh]
madhye-kṛtya vyañjanāny anna-kūṭaṃ
grāsaṃ grāsaṃ pāṇinā dakṣiṇena |
tarjanyāsāv uddiśan vāmayā taṃ
śakraṃ lolat-prānta-gatyā jahāsa || [śālinī]

Whenever he stretched out his hand forward for a morsel, / all [the birds] scattered in every direction like sparrows. ||1.18.34
