śambaraṃ praviviśe bimbādharaṃ
yat tad eva jaladevahelanam |
chidram āvaritum atra tadvrate
śīrṣabhākkarayugaṃ sa namyatām || [rathoddhatā]
That water was entered, O bimbā-lipped ones, / was itself an offense against the water-god. / To cover that transgression in this vow of his, / let that god be bowed to with both hands placed on your heads!"
