[45] madhumaṅgala uvāca-yadyapi nāsman-mukhataḥ sukhatayā niḥsarati rati-pratikūlam idaṃ, tathāpi bhavat-praśna-prathāta eva kathā-viṣayīkriyate | tathā ca śrutaṃ mayā khalv idam viśrutaṃ kula-pālikānāṃ tāsu gāli-dānam avakalyatām |

[45] Madhumaṅgala said: "Although this matter, being hostile to love, does not happily come from our mouth, nonetheless, precisely out of the prominence of Your question, it is made a subject of discourse. And thus let the famous reproach of the matriarchs toward them, which was actually heard by me, be observed:
