gacchan neṣa tvam adya sphurasi dayita bhoḥ kaṃsa-ghātaṃ vidhāya
svīkartuṃ rājatāṃ tat katham atha bhavatād āgatis te vrajāya?
tasmād asmābhir arthyaṃ tad idam iha bhavāṃs tatra nānā-virājat-
tīrthe sarvārthade naḥ smṛtim anu dadatām añjalīnāṃ trayāṇi ||

'Departing today, O beloved, you appear set on slaying Kaṃsa / and accepting kingship; how, then, could your return to Vraja come to pass? / Therefore, this is what we ask of you: there, in that splendid sacred place that grants all goals, / may you offer three handfuls of water remembering us!' //
