ūcuś ca,
"abhajad iha yad eṣā parvatākāra-varṣmā,
kṣayam atitanu-mūrtiṃ prāpya bālaṃ tam etam |
na hi tad ativicitraṃ prekṣyatām eva sākṣād
vidhur ayam amṛtāṅgaḥ pūtaneyaṃ viṣāṅgī || [mālinī]
tathā ca,
"viṣaṃ syād viṣam anyasminn amṛtaṃ tu viṣe viṣam |
pūtanā-kṛṣṇa-saṅgharṣe dṛśyatām etad eva hi || [anuṣṭubh]

And they said:
"That she, possessing a body like a mountain, met destruction here / upon reaching this child of exceedingly small form— / this is indeed not very wondrous; see it directly: / he is the moon whose limbs are nectar; she is Pūtanā whose limbs are poison. ||20
And likewise:
"Poison is adverse to another, but to poison, nectar is poison; / let this very truth be seen in the clash between Pūtanā and Kṛṣṇa." ||21
