[14] tataś ca sahasā bahiḥ-purād antaḥ-pura-pura-sthala-bhājaṃ śrīmad-vraja-rājaṃ nirvarṇya sarve paryāyāgatā dvidhābhūtāḥ pūrato dūrato' vakāśaṃ daduḥ | [15] tato' sau janakas tu jana-kalakalatas tad-vṛttam avakalayann ambālā-galāvalambaṃ bālakam eva sva-pāṇi-talam avalambayāmāsa, vilokayāmāsa ca tasya sarvāvayavān |

And then, suddenly catching sight of the illustrious king of Vraja entering the grounds of the inner quarters from outside the compound, everyone who had arrived in turn divided into two sides and made way before him from a distance. Then that father, discerning from the noisy chatter of the crowd what had happened, caught the boy—who was clinging to the young mother’s neck—in his own hands, and examined all his limbs.
