[32] tad etad āśrutya gargaḥ sa-gadgadaṃ jagāda-
"yan-manā bhikṣur āyātas tad dātā ditsati svayam |
tadā bhāgyaṃ kiyad varṇyaṃ bhikṣor dātuś ca kauśalam? || [anuṣṭubh]
Hearing this, Garga said with a voice choked with emotion:
"When the donor himself desires to give that with which the mind of the mendicant has come, / how then can one describe the fortune of the mendicant, or the cleverness of the donor?" ||
