vipakṣacittonmathanā nakhavraṇās tirohitā vibhramamaṇḍanena ye
hṛtasya śeṣān iva kuṅkumasya tān vikatthanīyān dadhur anyathā striyaḥ //
The nail-marks, agitating the minds of rivals, / which had been concealed by playful adornment, / were displayed boastfully by the women under another guise, / as if they were remnants of saffron that had been washed away.
