aṃśupāṇibhir atīva pipāsuḥ padmajaṃ madhu bhṛśaṃ rasayitvā
kṣībatām iva gataḥ kṣitim eṣyaṃl lohitaṃ vapur uvāha pataṅgaḥ //

When the thousand-rayed sun grew red and became accessible to the eyes,
anguish, leaving the earth, reached the hearts of the cakravāka birds.
