gamyatām upagate nayanānāṃ lohitāyāti sahasramarīcau
āsasāda virahayya dharitrīṃ cakravākahṛdayāny abhitāpaḥ //

Light with its base released, having abandoned the east, accumulated densely in the western sky,
the mass of rays did not shine while the sun was half-submerged, looking weary and crooked.
