In the encounter with the Mahiṣa demon, may Pārvatī's body protect you—its breast-slopes radiant from the lifting of her arms, its bodice bursting at the edges, its lower garment half held by the girdle slipping down from the deep expanse of her navel and belly, lovely through its exertion, the lustrous mass of her hair charmingly loosened beyond its binding.
“The discus of the Discus-Armed One clanged upon a single hair as if fallen upon a rock,
and Sthāṇu's arrow met with repulse by the thick hide as if by a coat of mail!”—
At whom she laughed, holding anger within, mocking Hari and Hara; may that Pārvatī
protect you, bringing about death with her foot to that enemy of the gods who bears the body of a buffalo. || 73
