May that Pārvatī protect you, who, laughing at Hari and Hara with anger held within, brings about death with her foot to that enemy of the gods bearing the body of a buffalo. "Thus"—what? Upon whose hair—that is, Mahiṣa's—the discus of the Discus-Armed One clanged as if fallen upon a rock, stone; and Sthāṇu’s, Śiva's, arrow met with repulse, a rebuff, by the thick hide as if by an armor, a coat of mail. The meaning is: Viṣṇu's discus did not sever even his hair; Śiva's arrow did not pierce even his mere hide.
1. 'rudrāṇyāḥ'. 2. 'śāraramyam'.

Having made the orb of her moon-face display the bend of her eyebrow-creeper’s bow sparkling with trembling ringlets,
its pupils wildly rolling with agitation, its wide perimeter-eyes radiant with flashing red luster,
as if he were Bhava who had offended by courting Twilight, may Pārvatī,
swiftly spurning with her left lotus-foot the Daitya who took a buffalo's body before her, purify you. || 74
