tena duṣṭapracāreṇa dūṣitaṃ tadvanaṃ mahat
na nṛbhir godhanair vāpi sevyate vanavṛttibhiḥ //
Defiled by his wicked roaming, that great forest / was no longer frequented by men or herds of cattle living from the woods.
