(dvābhyāmāvābhyāmanubadhyamānā yathā śrṛgālīva kukkurābhyām .
sanūpurā mekhalānādahāsā saveṣṭanaṃ me hṛdayaṃ harantī .. 10 ..)
viṭaḥ---vasantasene!
kiṃ tvaṃ padāt padaśatāni niveśayantī
nāgīva yāsi patagendrabhayābhibhūtā .
vegādahaṃ pracalitaḥ pavanopameyaḥ
kiṃ tvāṃ grahītumathavā na hi me'sti śaktiḥ .. 21 ..

(Pursued by both of us, like a female jackal by two dogs,
with tinkling anklets, with the laugh of her girdle-bells, stealing my heart along with its wrappings! [10])
Parasite---Vasantasenā!
Why do you run like a serpent-maiden overcome with terror of the king of birds,
setting down hundreds of steps in a single pace?
If I have set off in haste, rivaling the wind,
